JPMorgan Chase: The Waiting Workforce

One in three Americans has a criminal record. Even after they’ve fulfilled their justice system obligations, many still face significant barriers to finding meaningful employment. The complex paperwork needed to clear their records keeps millions of people from supporting their families and communities—and it costs the US up to $87 billion a year in economic growth.

To raise awareness, JPMorgan Chase commissioned Droga5 and Glue Society to create an art installation consisting of 38 statues. Made of the same legal paperwork, each one represents a state that has yet to enact Clean Slate legislation.

As a part of the larger “Make Happen” campaign, we created a design system that leveraged existing brand components to seed the concept of The Waiting Workforce into culture. We created films, social content, print ads, as well as a bespoke microsite to highlight the economic and social opportunity that Clean Slate Legislation could help provide.

Microsite

Partnering with Millenium, Droga5 created a bespoke microsite to help communciate the mission of the installation, as well as help it live on even after the statues were removed over time.

This site would house the hero film and ultimately drive traffic to additional links that would help users take the next steps in their journey to supporting Second Chance Legislation.
